Punished for buying the ruse

Mistruths, half truths

Lie, Lie, Lie

With unyielding faith

Unaware, suffering repeated abuse

What is danger

Trust, innocence, naiveté

A youthful lacking sense of self

Easy prey for the broken and calculated

Forgiveness given undeserved

Steadfast loyalty unearned

Admirable qualities used to torment

Goodness, wholeness — stripped, desecrated

Anchor lodged deep

Pulling straight down

Mind begs for answers

As if knowledge somehow repairs a soul

Heart mind disconnect

Chaos confuses intuition

Distance the only medium for repair

A breach this devastating takes a toll

New journey begins

Defining self again

Relearning wisdom ignored

Strengthening the ripcord
