Who Am I?

I search for meaning
In these lines
Reflecting,
On who I truly am
Even though my actions
May sometimes confuse me
I hope my words
Are truly genuine
And hopefully they will lead me
To hearts desire, and show me
Who I really am

Why does my soul bleed
Why is it not at ease
Do I truly care
Or do I just like to be perceived as caring

Why do I search for darkness
When surrounded by light
Why am I always seeking
And never satisfied
Why don’t I love mine

Or maybe I do
Perhaps I’m afraid
To invest too much.
Easier to ignore
Than to fully embrace.

Or perhaps not, I don’t seem to know anymore
Everything is vague, grey
Uncertain.

Is my heart truly bright
What do I really feel inside
Am I satisfying my ego
How sincere am I

These questions, I ask myself
Do they reflect my sincerity
Or are they just pushing me to insanity?

Surely a wicked man, knows deep inside
And has no need to ask
An honest man, should also know
For his honesty breeds tranquility

Then who is the man that asks?
Is he wise, for not being complacent
And always interrogating
Or does it reflect his true nature
That his outward glow is just a facade
And deep within, he’s truly sinister

I don’t know any of these answers
I don’t know why I ask these question
