Feedback From My First Beta Reader

E-Book Writing

Incorporating changes into my e-book

Last week I sent the draft of my e-book to a first beta reader, and proofreader, who I had found on Fiverr. I was a bit nervous to get her feedback, as she is the first person reading through the new book.

When I got her report back, it was a very professionally-written page-long report.

Since she was proofreading, she had also made changes and comments in the Google Doc that I sent her. Most were things like adding commas, and other small changes. A couple sentences that needed to be reworded.

Out of 150 pages, the changes were pretty minimal overall.

In her report, my beta reader said she was surprised at being the first pair of eyes on the new book, because there were minimal changes needed. She liked it, and told me she thinks it will be able to help a lot of people.

I could jump for joy at these amazing results!

After getting her feedback, I made the changes on the sentences that needed to be reworked. Then, I sent the book off to my second Beta reader.

My second reader works as a therapist, so her feedback will be really valuable since she can edit for content on a deep level, because this is a psychology book.

When you are getting beta readers for your own book, it is important to make sure that you have a combination of subject-matter experts, and writing experts.

You can also become a Medium member with my link for only $5 per month.
