Luckie starts of by saying “where black people go, the internet goes.” This is a great way to show on influential African Americans are to the social media movement goes on to point out how many social media platforms have ignored this influence. Platforms like Vine, Snapchat and Instagram have failed to see their value. While sites like Tumblr and twitter have an unofficial voice called “black Tumblr” and “black twitter” where more than 48% of its users go to voice their opinion on cultural issues. He then goes into detail naming companies who have seen this uprising and have implemented the diversity committee to involve these groups are the ones who sites will go far because those who do not will lose nearly half of their base.

He now works for the Huffington Post a website that is known for its hard hitting stories and blog posts. In this article Luckie made very strong points to back up what could be considered an opinion. He acknowledged Viner’s who left the social media platforms because they were not catering to their needs, and showed those vines going to other platforms and their popularity skyrocketed. Also he points out companies like twitter have decided to put their money behind theses black influences and allowed them to make a bigger name for themselves.

The white gaze is essentially looking at the world through a white person’s eyes. She brings these points to life b reflecting on the film Precious and how most of the movie Precious is always reaching for the aesthetics of white women’s that is unattainable for her. She goes in detail on the traumatic experience Precious went through and how she chooses to fantasize rather than live in the harsh world. She points out the sexism with the relationships Precious has, colorism with Precious and her teachers and micro aggression she is faced with during her time and school and through her days being a black women. Also the patriarchal basis the movie exhibits during all of her fantasies Precious is always behind a light skin powerful man.

Griffin is a well-known professor of communications at the University of Utah. She has been an author and a coauthor of many different publications that are very popular such as The Journal of Negro Education and Dehumanized and empowered? Black women, reality television, and Love and Hip Hop Atlanta. With all this being said Griffin has paved a great road for black women by point out things that have been overlooked. By keeping the reader focused on Precious main goal to graduate she illustrated how easy it is for some to take that for granted and show how some my people have to come into play just to help Precious get the aid she needs. She also talks about the other perspective of how white women don’t even understand that they are casting white gaze over the film industry.

Williams main point is the way most people speak about young boys is insufficient it plays to the stereotypes that need to be left behind. And how there is now evidence that these stereotypes can implicitly influence their behavior. This writer wants to shed a light on federal programs to emphasize the development in the community. The author goes on to say how we as a community need to work to change how we first view black youth then work on each other’s view.

This article is important because it reinforces the narrative that black youth adds a rich diversity to the world’s community. And black you deserve to be viewed as a competent and caring members of society. Which goes hand and hand with social justice reform in the media it is important to remind youth that they have and deserve a place in society.

According to Thompson, a seasoned writer for Essence starts off her article with the question what does black women representation in the media look like. Then gives examples of how women are viewed in pop culture and reality TV. She issued a survey that asked women to talk about how women view images of other black women from media and she notice that most women thought they were badly portrayed. Also he talks about the younger population and how their viewing of excess TV will have an adverse reaction emotionally. Essence wants to have multiple sit downs with women of color who have become successful and humanitarians.

Essence, a well-known magazine catered to the black community, is a great outlet for young women to see, it highlights those who are doing great in society and tries to put a positive twist on the negative side which is important to see. By using actors, models and humanitarians of color gives young women and guide and shows that you don’t have to look like what’s on TV to be beautiful and successful. This article Moore summarizes the blue on black crimes that have left the black community in turmoil. The last couple of years Moore explains how he has been working every day to make sure this isn’t the only thing kids are seeing on the TV. He knows it has an affected the youth in a negative way. It highlights how charges against the police, if filed have been dropped. So in Baltimore they have been able to start a new program called the Inner Harbor Project to help put teens in line for social mobility and change.

The inner Harbor Project is a non-profit organization started in 2012.This is a positive view the media portrays of the black community. Moore is an activist in Baltimore and has had many interviews the youth and adults. He has helped design programs and help young people organize their people power. They have programs that are built on building empathy between the officer and the teen. More also has an episodes on YouTube where he talks to people on the streets of Baltimore called “The Movement”

This article shows how important it is to stand for a cause no matter what I son the line Jesse Williams stands stood up on national TV and spoke is mind on the issues. He spoke freely and honestly and since then has been making headway in the media and on the streets. He spoke about how freedom is always conditional here. This shook the media and opened eyes to the casualties the government have taken.

Jesse Williams is an actor from greys anatomy, during his whole career he was only known as a doctor but the day of this Event he became something much more. He became a human, someone who felt the pains just like everyone else. And the media help him, in getting his point across they interviewed him on almost every news site and also shows like the Daily Show and The Tonight Show.

Matos beings her article saying how this new streaming service is going after the big dogs such as Netflix and Hulu platforms who regularly stream endless reality TV and mind numbing TV. She introduces a new video streaming service called kweli.tv which subscribes to minorities alike. It broadcasts a variety of filmmakers from all around world. Deshaun Spencer the founder of Kweli.tv talks about her motivation to share not only her story but those of others who were in her same shoes. She goes on to say how she always help dissatisfied who the communities of color were presented.

This is worthwhile to have in my paper because it shows a recent graduate who saw something wrong and decided to fix it on the global scale. She is not only helping her community share they lives she is trying to change the narrative that people of color tend to receive. She plays us the positives in all cultures

According to Kappernicks guest former Green Beret Nate Boyer expressed his willingness to understand where Kaepernick was coming from later posting a tweet saying this is what America should be about.

The Los Angeles Times is a well-known news sources specifically their sports section. The author Chuck Schilken has been with La Time since 2004 and his emphasis is in sports. That being said because he mainly writes sports piece his view might be too narrow to grasp the whole issue. Prior to working at the LA times, he worked in Virginia and Maryland as an editor for over a decade. It is important to read blog pieces because it gives you someone else incite, and it is useful in order to understand why a piece was written

The daily mail website is a blog that gives insight to pop culture and what celebrities are doing in the world. This article to represent what is going on in the political arena and how celebrities are reacting to it. After trump went on national TV and called the NFL players and their mother’s names. Many celebrities took to their social media to speak out in outrage and in support of social media. This is an important article to read because in order to make an informed judgment on an incident you must see it from all perspectives. After comparing the black matters to a hate group. Even though fox news is gear for a specific audience does not mean that only those people should read it will be useful for all sides to read an article like this in order to view understand the view of people like Pete Hegseth

The author Lydia O’Connor is a well-known media journalist who is general assist reports in San Francisco Huffington post office.
