Participateing In The 10 Questions Writing Challenge

How are you?

I’m doing fabulous.

I want to take a pause before starting the 10 Question Writing challenge to let you know that this one is my friend Simona from Medium and Twitter. Thank you for giving me a challenge to respond, I am truly touched and appreciate it. I am in the midst of experienceing indecision on my end on what to publish on the blog. This challenge will give me the chance to get out of this dilema and to be able to bring back my focus to create. Without further interruptions…

1. Favourite Drinks?

If I was to tell you that I have a short list of drinks I have on any given day, you wouldn’t believe me. In the past I used to have:

Lemonade, juices of any kind, and smoothies. This changed once I reached adulthood, now I have:

Coffee, both cold and warm. Pumpkin spice during Fall then switch to Peppermint during November and December. I also have vanilla, white moca, and moca, however, I plan to try out new flavours starting in 2023.

Water is next on the short list and what I will have throughout the day, lastly i like having tea.

Tea with mint to be exact, I love it and makes me feel fresh and alert to start the day.

2. Favourite Colour?

When I was little my teacher once asked me this and I ansers “The colours of the rainbow.” If you were to ask me now, my anser is still the same, except, I have a fondness for rose gold – the shade apple created for their first iPhone S.E .

Next are the Blues, greens, reds, yellows, silver, purples, oranges, the whole spectrum, I may not be able to see yet I can imagine when someone describes to me. Also, I like black because it goes with all my colourful shirts I love to wear on the days I go out.

3. If I won the lottery, what are the top 3 things I would do?

Well, Simona that’s easy, first I would donate to a few non-profits I have interacted with; Balance for Blind Adults, and Cnib Canadian National Institute for the Blind, specifically, to the Vision program.

Secondly, I would buy a house near a beautiful beach, two to three miles away from the city, I love having peace and solitude sometimes. Wouldn’t it be great to have one instead of createing it at home sometimes, just a dreamer dreaming here.

And finally, I would travel to all the countries I have dreamed and read about: Iceland, australia,, Bali, many more.

4. Favourite Cusines?

I have a huge list of what I love to eat, to not bore you too much, it will but short, Simona.

Pizza, pasta, garlic bread fagida’s, tacos, burgers, onion rings- pakistani food: chicken pastries, pakora both chicken and fish, kababs of all kinds mainly chicken and beef, and a few curries. Green olives, cabage, cheese, salad, and much more. Don’t forget the shrimp in the seafood section, if you see me with family on a picnic, you will find me with a plateful of shrimp and there’s also barbeequee: chicken, burgers, and much more.

5. Which one would I give up on: Social Media or iPhone?

Good question, none of them because both are important. Social media is where I share my masterpieces and where I meet friends. On my iPhone I call, take photos and much more. Ask me this from two years from now and I might give you a different anser.

6. What I am really good at?

Again, like I mentioned back in the cusine section, it’s a long list.

Writing poetry, stories, and my thoughts – takes me time to edit but that doesn’t stop me from ,jotting them all down. On a good day, I write too many down to count and don’t forget asking Serrie to put down what I say. On a bad day, a few yet I still think they are gold.

traveling my home city, finding new places to visit when in the mood. I have my moments when all I want to do is revisit the same places again because I expect to find something I missed before.

7. Cats or Dogs?

Definately I am a Cat person, they are cute when small and ferocious protectors when grown up. Also, I know due to a few people that own cats and it never tires me the antics they get up to.

8. Am I a Coffee drinker?

I only have it once or twice a week otherwise I prefer the smell: It feels calming after a sniff of fresh brew is taken.

9. What languages do I speak?

English is my first language since I was born in Canada. Urdu comes second because it was taught by my Mom who is from Pakistan then comes the skill of learning braille. I can write and read in Unified English Braille —bumpy dots on paper, in this case on my braille refreshable display. To not confuse you, I write upon a braille refreshable display that also acts as a keyboard. The keys are located above and the strip where the braille appears is on the bottom. The six dot cells can turn to letters, then words then sentences after an expert – in my case a Vision Teacher who was learning braille – it was going through a major change in late 2013 and early 2014. It took me a year to learn and then six months to get used to writeing and reading braille without pause.

10. Do I use Chopsticks?

No, I once tried useing one in grade 8 on a trip to a japanese resturant and it did not work out. I usually eat by my right hand or with a spoon for soup and rice, and fork for salad, chicken, and any other meat that needs handleing.

There you have it, I ansered all of Simona’s questions, now my friends please give this challenge a try. I found this fun and will follow it up with my own set of questions, I hope to learn more about you.
