Walk to the Future

The future we want may seem bright, but the actual steps that we have to take to get there is still farfetched for today’s technology.

What technology do we have right now? Will it be scalable for future upgrades or will it be considered as legacy technologies in the near future? Let me walk you through to the process of actually getting to our dreams of technology in the future.

First thing we got to know is on what status of development or innovation do we have for our technology right now.

On 2007 the first smartphone was introduced (iPhone). That right there was one of the major breakthrough on our technology. Now we have wide screens, two screen, two to four camera setups, we have laptops for days’ end, and we have super powerful PCs that can handle processes that are not possible 20 years ago.

In terms of industry, almost all of manufacturing works are done with machineries and advance super computers that can produce results hundred times better than humans.

Communications is also one of the major innovation on our technology. Before, mails will get received of weeks, even months. Now for just a click of a button we can send a bulk of messages and every other thing in just seconds.

Transportation is at ease, aviation is smooth and almost pilotless, and space exploration is stable.

Looks good right? But are we really directing ourselves to a good future?

Everything that we do for the development of technology requires the consumption of valuable resources. What’s even worst is that we never had a technology to actually solve this problem. We are in a hurry to build a bridge to the future that we forget to lay a strong foundation to get there.

Now, let’s say that we actually solve the problem with resources, we’re still not done yet. How about our innovative minds? Only a few inventors and innovators are actually funded to pursue in helping the advancement of technology.

If the problem with resources and brilliant minds are solved, that is the only cue that we can continue with the development of technology.

Who wouldn’t like to ride a flying car? Or travel through space like it’s a field trip?

Imagine our dishes, clothes, and every single chore are solved everyday by technology. Wouldn’t it be awesome.

In terms of weaponry, if our technology is so advance, will humans want to have bionic weapons embedded in their body as well?

To be safe we have to make sure that our artificial intelligence (AI) are so much secure that Singularity will not even take place (Singularity = time when AI will be self-conscious).

In actuality, the innovation of technology will render us humans as useless being. I mean who wants robots to take over?

Will the innovation of technology be the destruction of mankind or a help in most of our everyday problems?

Our future depends on how well our technology is being develop.
