Writing and Responding

Why is it that writing comes so naturally? When I am speaking to the page, the words form into pictures painted with pen and keyboard ⌨️, and I can share it with you fine folks. Yet when it comes to commenting, or responding to the lovely comments other people leave for me, my body freezes up in my chair. I shift uneasily, considering all the aspects, how my tone may come off, and the myriad of meanings behind every phrase. So in the end, I clap and say nothing. Or I just thank people for their response and it feels lame. I feel exactly as awkward as when I am face-to-face with people.

Anxiety, this monster we all must face, yet some seem slightly more equipped to fight against it. I thought being behind a screen 💻, using the screen name BlockWife, would be the weapon that slayed the beast. It is just another layer of armour. It makes the lashes easier to bear, but it doesn’t make the pain disappear. We all must fight each day, to support ourselves, and each other. So I clap on, and occasionally when I am especially moved by a piece I throw up my shield, and swing away. 🛡🗡

I want to blast a call of 🎺Thank You 📜 to all of you reading, clapping, and interacting with my work. I know how daunting it is, not only to praise someone else’s work but just to start a conversation. So here is some applause to all of you just for participating 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏!
