The Way You Make Me Feel

My friend and I were talking recently about our favorite coaches growing up. I mentioned my first soccer coach for how much he cared about me. And I mentioned my high school baseball coach for how much he taught me.

My friend told me his favorite coach was a guy who made him feel like a million bucks. He couldn’t remember the coach’s name, but he remembers the feeling of being excited about going to practices and feeling confident in everything he was doing. The coach made him feel like he was important, and like he was a really good player.

There are a lot of people that come into and out of our lives. We learn something from all of them, whether we realize it in the moment or not. But only a few of these people make us feel good. These are the people with whom we need to spend time.

Let’s make it a point to connect with the people who make us feel good. And let’s remember that making someone else feel good is more important than anything we can show or teach them.
