How to fix fsck error on Ubuntu

So you booted up Ubuntu and get a screen like above.

What is a fsck error? How do you fix one?

An fsck error happens when the disks information has become corrupted for some reason. The problem can cause a slight panic attack but here is how I fixed mine issue, hopefully it will work for you also.

From the command prompt presented you’ll see where the disk is located. In my case it was /dev/sda2.

To manually run the fsck error check simply run the command fsck -f ‘disk location’

Next you’ll get a ton of messages asking if you want to continue. Just keep pressing y and enter.

It will do this several times as it tells you the status. Don’t get overwhelmed. Just keep saying y and enter.

When there is nothing left to say yes to, simply give the command to reboot

This solved my fsck error and hopefully it will for you as well!
